i think its their placenta! it passes oxygen through to them .. as well as blood etc ..

I’ve seen alot of C-sections on animals, and i’ve always wanted to know what that sac of coagulated blood is for that is connected to each puppy…by the way, very nice. Very nice clean and careful cuts!
